- It was a very Rolling Stones-centric week here at Rock Daily, as Mick and Keith appeared on the new cover (along with Jack White) to support their concert film Shine a Light. RollingStone.com featured exclusive video from the photo shoot, plus a gallery showing the history of the Rolling Stones in concert.
- Velvet Revolver dumped Scott Weiland, who had no love lost for his now-former bandmates. In an exclusive interview, Slash told us this was a long time coming and that the group would be looking for a new singer (we’re providing him with some suggestions). And really, we should have seen this coming.
- Rock Daily logged plenty of frequent flier miles: We went to San Francisco to see Ray Davies, San Antonio for Paramore and Jimmy Eat World, London for Radiohead and Vancouver for Eddie Vedder.
- The bean counters in the music industry got some interesting news, as both Jay-Z and U2 hopped into bed with Live Nation. Elsewhere, MySpace formed like Voltron with some big-time music labels and iTunes claimed market dominance over Wal-Mart.
