Jeff Healey?s latest release, Mess Of Blues, is slated for an April 22nd release on Ruf Records (internationally) and Stoney Plain Records (in Canada). His first blues-rock release in eight years, it was recorded live at his Roadhouse club in Toronto and at the Islington Academy in London this past year. Though some like to think that great musicians are elevated to the status of eminent legend once they?re deceased, that announcement would be redundant in Jeff Healey?s case. He was already an authentic legend before the fact. Back in 1988, when he released his debut album, See the Light, listeners knew immediately that they were hearing greatness for the first time…

Born and raised in Canada he began playing guitar at a very early age. His early influences were Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page. After hearing a jazz guitarist playing in a music store Hart decided to explore that intriguing style. He attended Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California and graduated with honors. While there, Hart had the opportunity to study with Mike Stern, Steve Kahn and Wayne Krantz. He has opened for jazz greats such as Herbie Hancock, Acoustic Alchemy and Yellow Jackets. His style is similar to his mentors, but maintains its own unique voice…

Nine Inch Nails announced the first leg of their summer tour on the band’s Web site yesterday. Trent Reznor also confirmed rumors that his touring band — which featured Twiggy Ramirez (who since rejoined Marilyn Manson), Devo/Vandals drummer Josh Freese, the Icarus Line’s Aaron North and keyboardist Alessandro Cortini — would be “reformed,” with “details coming” about the new lineup. On the tour schedule, there’s a two-night window between the August 2nd show in Minneapolis and August 5th show in Toronto, conveniently making it possible for Nine Inch Nails to close out this year’s Lollapalooza festival in Chicago on August 3rd as rumored. The folks at Dr. Pepper may be handing out soda sooner than they thought. Yesterday, Axl Rose announced that Guns N’ Roses will now be represented by Irving Azoff and Andy Gould, the management team that has most recently handled Guns spinoff project Velvet Revolver. Rose’s band hasn’t had management since December 2006, when he split from former manager Merck Mercuriadis. Axl didn’t reveal any other details, but the watch for the 13-years-in-the-making album Chinese Democracy is back on. Azoff, a former top executive at MCA, has managed Christina Aguilera, Eagles and Van Halen, among others. Gould is a former member of talent agency The Firm and has most notably managed Rob Zombie. It’s probably safe to say that if these two guys can’t whip Axl into shape, then Chinese Democracy will likely remain a legend.
